A Wembley landlord who failed to turn up for court following fire safety breaches was fined nearly £8,000. Failings included inadequate smoke alarms had been installed and mandatory fire doors were not fitted.
This clearly shows another example of the zero tolerance policy the law has on rogue landlords which results in fines and can ultimately lead to imprisonment! For more on this story click here:
The best way to ensure you comply with the law is to have a written fire risk assessment report, completed by a competent fire risk assessor. In order to ensure ‘competency’ it is recommended that your fire risk assessment is completed by a third-party certificated company.
